Divorce

The Right Representation Matters

Divorce is a very personal and often a deeply emotional and challenging time. Our attorneys have decades of experience in guiding our clients through both the legal and practical issues they will encounter. Understanding families and the issues our clients face as they go through the divorce process is key to our success as matrimonial and family law attorneys.

Educating our clients as to the divorce process and the issues they may encounter pertaining to their divorce enables our clients to make informed decisions. We spend the time necessary to work with each client so that we can best meet their individual needs. We address the issues that will arise both during the divorce process and as they transition to the next chapter of their lives after the divorce concludes.

Although there are several statutory grounds upon which a divorce can be granted, most divorces in New York are granted as a result of the irretrievable breakdown of the marriage for a period of at least six (6) months. This is New York’s version of no-fault divorce.

Our attorneys will explain what you should be doing as you go through a divorce and, equally as important, what you should not be doing. This will enable you to best protect yourself, your family, and your interests.

The attorneys at the Law Offices of Barry J. Fisher, P.C., represent clients in Nassau and Suffolk County and throughout the boroughs of New York City.
